What is your favorite restaurant in Findlay?  What is your favorite restaurant in Ohio?

One of the great things about Findlay is that we are loaded with great restaurants.  Not many communities the size of Findlay have so many good local eating establishments.  Of all the great places to eat, the one restaurant I put above all others is Japan West.  We are blessed with one of the best Japanese restaurants and sushi bars in the country.  Yes - you will pay, but in my opinion it is worth it.  The sushi is fresh, well prepared, and presented in traditional Japanese fashion.  The Sushi Chef is outstanding as is the Executive Chef.  We love to eat at the tables as well as the sushi bar.  While the "show" may not be quite as flashy as some places, the food is fantastic.  My personal favorites are the flounder basket, eel, and spicy tuna rolls from the sushi bar - and the chicken and salmon dinner at the tables.  Don't forget to include some sake and a good Japanese beer to compliment your dinner. 

My favorite restaurant outside Findlay is Mancy's Steakhouse in Toledo.  Mancy's is an old school dining experience.  It has become a lot more casual over the years, but whenever I go to Mancy's it almost seems sacrilegious to not dress up. 

Mancy's is known for their steak - and for their seafood.  They also have the best french onion soup I have ever tasted.  Their appetizers include stuffed mushrooms and escagot.... and quite honestly, can't say I've left room for many of their desserts - but I know they must be outstanding.  Mancy's also has an excellent wine list and they know how to make a drink.
