Night at the Oscars proved to be a fun, well-organized, well-executed event. The thing I liked best about the event was that they used multiple levels and multiple rooms of the historic Elks building in downtown Findlay. The building is beautiful, and the decorations used by the organizing committee were the icing on the cake. I don't know how many people actually attended, but the crowd was significantly larger than I had anticipated. And - every room was filled with food. Everything from entrees to sandwiches, to appetizers, desserts and coffee were available - all supplied by some of Findlay's finest restaurants. Couple all that with at least 150 guests all decked out in tuxes, suits and formals - and it was a great evening and a great cause - with proceeds benefitting the Hancock County Chapter of the American Red Cross. |
