Alioto's at Fishermans Wharf - San Francisco Alioto's at Fishermans Wharf - San Francisco

It is quite possible that I had the best meal I've ever had at Aliotos Restaurant.  San Francisco is known for their restaurants and Aliotos has been a fixture since the 1920's.  There is a great view of the wharf, fishing fleets and in the background - the Golden Gate Bridge.  I started with a bowl of crab bisque with a puff pastry that was rich and full of crab meat.  Dungeness Crab is a local specialty.  My entree was seared wild tuna medallions topped with a sauce that was a blend of balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil.  The medallions were placed around a small portion of fried rice.  The presentation was outstanding and the flavor was even better.  My wife Cathy shared the soup with me followed by cannolini stuffed with dungeness crab and shrimp - which was excellent as well.

I had a draft Peroni and a draft Alioto Private Label Ale.  We finished the meal with a glass of moscoto de asti which was the perfect topper for the meal.
